From Wednesday 2 September 2026 to Sunday 6 September 2026, a double anniversary edition will be offered to celebrate Freddie Mercury's 80th birthday and the 30th anniversary of his statue in Montreux.

Below you will find the first part of the 2026 edition’s programme. The full programme will be revealed progressively throughout the year. The information and schedules shown on this page are provided for reference only and may be subject to change.

Irena Sedlecká Estate, Sam R.M. Geden & Jim Jenkins

On the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of the Freddie Mercury statue in Montreux, an exclusive conference will be held in the presence of the Irena Sedlecká Estate, representing the family of renowned sculptor Irena Sedlecká, creator of the statue.

The Estate representatives will share their unique perspective on their mother's work, to which they contributed directly, and reveal exclusive information about the creative process behind this sculpture that has become an icon of the city of Montreux.

They will be joined by Sam R.M. Geden, who has been researching the life of Irena Sedlecká for a forthcoming book on the history of Freddie's statues. He will provide exclusive information to the audience attending this special conference.

Jim Jenkins, a key figure in the Queen community, co-author of the reference work Queen As It Began and a recognized historian of the band for over fifty years, will also contribute his expertise. A close collaborator of the official fan club and privileged witness to many stages of the band's career, he will share rare anecdotes and put into perspective the statue's importance in the cultural legacy of Freddie Mercury and Queen.

Some of you may remember Giulia Delogu from the 2025 edition, when she literally scotched and moved the audience as she took to the stage during karaoke.

This year, we've decided to invite her to open the festival. She'll be coming to share an acoustic concert, accompanied by her father on guitar, an intimate moment that promises to be rich in emotion.

Giulia and her father will be on stage for the first time.

Giulia and her father will also be present on Sunday for a totally exclusive project, surrounded by several musicians, a unique creation to be discovered at Freddie Days.

ROCK YOU! takes you on a journey through time, revisiting more than 25 songs by the British quartet, with a set made up exclusively of “deep cuts”, tracks rarely, if ever, performed live, sure to delight the biggest Queen fans.

The band has a blast, blending pop, funk and hard rock, and explores Queen’s musical legacy from Smile through to the 1990s.

Ricky Leroy Brown stands for bombastic moments, with a touch of self-irony.

This Switzerland-based musician, whose sound is typically funky and soul-heavy, looks back on notable achievements with his original music across several South American and European radio and TV stations.

Through all these funktastic adventures, Ricky has never forgotten his roots.

Queen were the main reason he wanted to make music at all, after hearing “We Will Rock You” when he was around eight years old.

Queen’s music sparked his journey and gave him the power and direction to “Want It All”. Like every “Rhapsody” before it, Ricky Leroy Brown’s musical life has been filled with twists and magical moments. Early in his career, he performed at the Freddie Days in 2012, where he met Spanish musicians, Q71, who later invited him to become their lead vocalist for several tours in Spain from 2020 to 2025.

Now he is back with his full band, ready to celebrate.

The multi-instrumentalist, his band, and his crew will make sure every Queen fan feels at home, comfortable, and ready to “Break Free!”

Richard Young is one of the UK's most recognized celebrity photographers. His career has taken him to work with the likes of Princess Diana, Kate Moss, Robin Williams, Elton John and David Bowie. Together with his wife Susan, they enjoyed a special relationship with Queen, capturing many rare moments at Freddie Mercury's side. They will share unique memories and exclusive anecdotes drawn from these exceptional moments.

Terry Giddings (UK)
Freddie Mercury's driver and bodyguard, he shared his daily life for many years. This privileged position enabled him to live as close as possible to the artist, well beyond the tours and backstage. He is one of the few people to have really known Freddie in his everyday life. During the conference, he will offer a direct and authentic look at those years spent at his side.

Crystal Taylor (UK)
A former member of Roger Taylor's technical team and personal assistant, he experienced tours, rehearsals and private moments up close and personal with the band. His daily presence with the musicians enables him to share highly authentic accounts, revealing the true atmosphere that reigned backstage and within Queen's immediate entourage.

Edger Hamer (Netherlands)
Journalist, author and leading expert on the world of Queen. Passionate about the band since childhood, he has been following its history for over fifty years and has published several reference works devoted to Queen and its connection with the Netherlands. He is also involved in organizing events dedicated to Freddie Mercury and the band's legacy. At this conference, Edger will also act as moderator and presenter.

Created by the Musical Comédie association, La Bande Son is a collective of young singers aged 18 to 25, accompanied by four professional musicians. Since its birth in 2019, the troupe has been offering original musical performances that revisit great repertoires with freshness and energy.

In 2022, they distinguished themselves with We Will Rock You, a vibrant tribute to the band Queen, retracing its history through a powerful and generous musical staging.

In 2026, La Bande Son will join Montreux to celebrate Freddie Mercury's 80th birthday at Freddie Days.

With their infectious energy and passion for Queen, they promise a powerful and festive moment, true to Freddie's spirit.

80 Years of Freddie: By Those Who Were There

To celebrate Freddie Mercury's 80th birthday, an exceptional conference will bring together enthusiasts for a unique moment, designed by fans for fans.

Special guests who knew Freddie Mercury well will share rare anecdotes and intimate memories of their time with the artist and the band Queen. This is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in their world and relive, through their stories, the magic of a story that has become legendary.

Etsuko Nakagawa (Japan)
She crossed paths with Freddie Mercury on numerous occasions. Among her most vivid memories are those from 1982 and 1985, when she followed him on shopping sprees whose items later reappeared at the Sotheby’s sale in 2023. This rediscovery triggered an astonishing series of reunions between her, the son of the artist who created the pieces, and Mr Itami, all witnesses to that now unforgettable scene, not only bringing them back together but also setting off a surprising chain of further connections. She will recount this exceptional story along with other special moments. She also attended as many concerts as she could, 16 shows in Japan between 1979 and 1985, and four shows abroad during the 1986 Magic Tour in Germany, Austria and Hungary. In Budapest, she was unexpectedly offered a backstage pass through Freddie’s associates, another moment of pure fan-luck that she cherishes deeply.

Isabelle Osman (France)
A long-time enthusiast, she has approached the group on numerous occasions. Over the years, her kindness and discretion enabled her to be warmly accepted by Freddie, the members of Queen and their entourage, who willingly allowed her to approach them.

Martin Josephson (England)
Considered by Jacky Smith to be the longest serving member of the Queen Fan Club, he has followed the band for over fifty years and attended sixty concerts. He has met every member of Queen on tour, notably during the Hot Space period in 1982 and during an incredible journey to Rock in Rio in 1985. A lifetime dedicated to Freddie and Queen. He will also share memories from his time on the set of the film Bohemian Rhapsody, where he appeared as part of the cast, offering rare tales that promise an unforgettable moment.

Jim Jenkins (England)
A key figure in the fan community, he possesses a remarkable knowledge of Queen's history and has collaborated on numerous band-related projects. A benchmark among enthusiasts, he will be moderating this conference, guiding exchanges to offer a moment rich in anecdotes and discoveries.

Exclusively, Montserrat Caballé Claus, niece and personal assistant to the legendary singer Montserrat Caballé, will share her aunt's memory and artistic legacy, alongside two privileged witnesses to Freddie Mercury's life: pianist and composer Mike Moran, and Peter Freestone, Freddie's personal assistant and loyal friend.

The Swiss Steamboat Association plans to bring together some fifteen boats from all over Switzerland. The fleet will arrive from Villeneuve and position themselves in a cluster opposite the statue, accompanied by Vulcania's Calliope. A general whistle will mark this high point, before a parade of steamers in front of the public.

As this parade is part of Freddie Days, the whole thing will naturally unfold to music and the sound of Queen.

This national orchestra, under the direction of Lionel Chapuis, will perform several Freddie Mercury and Queen songs in versions specially adapted for the occasion.

Accordions, percussion, electric guitar, piano and vocals will combine to pay a memorable tribute to Freddie Mercury on this anniversary.

The vin d'honneur, offered by the commune of Montreux will also be distributed to participants.

In Montreux, right next to the Freddie Mercury statue, in a friendly space, surrounded by Queen fans from all over the world, several DJ's will play in front of you on several independent channels, each one in a different style.

Each participant will be equipped with wireless headphones. An integrated button on the headphones will allow you to switch between the different sound atmospheres proposed by the DJs as well as to adapt the volume at your convenience.

Advance booking is highly recommended and guarantees the availability of headphones, whatever your arrival time.

Freddie Mercury's godson and son of producer Reinhold Mack, he grew up in the midst of Queen's recording sessions. Even though he was very young, the atmosphere of the studios and Freddie's radiant presence left their mark on his childhood. Now a musician in his own right, he will look back on those early years spent in the band's world, sharing rare memories passed down by those around him, as well as a few personal moments linked to his godfather.

Historian, author and one of the foremost experts on Queen, Jim Jenkins has followed the band since their early days. A close friend of the band members, he has documented their journey over decades, amassing archives, anecdotes and unique testimonials. The core of their concept is to pay homage to Freddie's deep emotional connection with Montreux, particularly through the atmosphere of Made in Heaven, a work intimately linked to this place.

Through this project, created exclusively for Freddie Days, the four musicians of "Zu Project", piano, acoustic guitar, electric guitar and voice, wish to celebrate the spirit of Montreux and the inspiration the town brought to Freddie, through songs that evoke peace, introspection and beauty.

In parallel, they will offer a carefully chosen selection of songs, not just the big hits, but also more confidential, intense and emotionally charged tracks, to properly honor Freddie.

Liquid Meat is a rock 'n' roll band created and fronted by Freddie Mack, son of Reinhold Mack, Queen's historic producer. Freddie Mercury and John Deacon are his godfathers, which creates a strong personal and symbolic link with the band's universe.

Together with his bandmates Phil Bondyè and Gerry Spalink, Freddie will honor his godfathers with a set comprised of Queen and Freddie Mercury covers, and perhaps a couple of original Liquid Meat songs thrown in for good measure!

Pianist Ivan Petracchi and singer German Tripel revisit the world of one of rock’s most iconic bands in a stripped back, emotionally charged format: piano and voice.

Leaving behind stadium scale, they go straight to the heart of the songs, the melodies, the lyrics, the raw feeling that made them timeless.

Alongside the anthems, the set explores hidden gems and rarely performed tracks, revealing the band’s remarkable songwriting range, and Freddie Mercury’s expressive brilliance in particular.

The result is theatrical yet intimate, delicate yet bold, these songs finding a natural home in the simplicity of piano and voice.

Don't Stop Queen Now (United Kingdom)

Don't Stop Queen Now is one of the UK's most impressive tribute bands, passionately recreating the energy and magic of Queen concerts.

At the center of the band is Michael Spence (aka Mickey Callisto), an artist noted for his win on ITV1's Starstruck and for his semi-final appearance on Britain's Got Talent, where his masterful performance of Who Wants to Live Forever triggered a standing ovation. He also went viral with the Bohemian Rhapsody flashmob shot in the streets of Paris: a video that became a global phenomenon, racking up over 550 million views on social networks.

Alongside James Perkin (guitar, vocals), George Fayle (bass, vocals), Liam Latham (drums, vocals) and Dave Sayer (keyboards), Mickey Callisto puts on a spectacular show, musically impeccable and visually powerful, paying tribute to Queen's legacy while adding a touch of authenticity and freshness.
